Brown Skies Blue Hills

"But I don't think the moon is any brighter here than in
Japan," Sakura leaned back and watched the night sky wistfully.
Syaoran grinned inwardly, "It's just a myth. It makes
restless people more desperate to leave the country."
"I don't see why, Guiling is so beautiful," she turned to
Syaoran, smiling, "Is that a reason you left Hong Kong,
Syaoran-kun?
Because the moon is brighter overseas?"
He flushed in embarrassment, "Well... not really.. it was just a
myth anyway... my family sent me."
"But you were happy to go, right?"
"Umm.. I guess so."
Sakura leaned back, as if satisfied. "Syaoran-kun, why do you
think your aunt invited Tomoyo-chan, Yukito-san, and Onii-chan to
Guiling this summer?"
"I'm not sure."
He quieted and watched the night sky silently. He never knew that the
Li family owned a small estate in Guiling, but it was far more
breathtaking than the lands in Hong Kong. He pondered why his aunt
had decided to invite Sakura and the others to this faraway home in
Eastern China, although he had to admit it was a rare treat. He
hasn't seen Sakura or his Japanese friends since four years ago,
when
he returned to Hong Kong. However, he knew his aunt was very
distrusting of outsiders, and he suspected that she wanted to gain
the Card Mistresses trust and support, thus gaining a powerful and
influential allay.
"Do you like it here?"
He sighed loudly, "You're asking a lot of questions."
Sakura grinned guilty, "Sorry! You can ask me questions if you
like."
Syaoran stole a glance at the auburn haired girl sitting beside him
and scowled to hide his reaction. She was wearing an unusually snug
fitting shirt, which he seriously thought Tomoyo made her wear just
to agonize him.
"So are you going to ask me any questions?" she asked.
"No, you told me everything."
Sakura sat up and fumbled with her fingers uncomfortably, "Yeah,
it's getting a bit hard to find things to say now."
Syaoran had to smile at that. He eyed the limestone ledge above him
and sighed. Perhaps life was impossible without ofudas and Sakura
Cards.
"That was quite a fall wasn't it?" he mumbled.
"Yeah."
