Sweatdrops appeared on everyone, including Clef who said, "I see you haven't changed a bit Umi." "And I never will," replied Umi arrogantly. Clef sighed and said, "Come with me...this is not the place to discuss it." Three Magic knights, three Cephireans and one Autozamian followed the small Guru to a huge looming door. Clef placed his hand against it gently and the doors slowly yet magically swung open. They all filed in while Clef summoned his light bouncy chairs from netherspace. ***** When everyone had been seated he said, "What is it you want to know exactly." "Stop stalling midget and tell us what really happened before I shove that wand of yours up-!" "Please just tell us what happened," said Eagle interrupting before Umi finished her sentence. "Alright," said Clef sighing, "I'll start with Hikaru's birthday." "We already know that," snapped Umi, "Tell us how we all died!" "Ms. Umi you don't have to interrupt him," said Fuu, "It's not polite." "Polite my a-!!" "Let's continue on with the story shall we?" interruped Ascot while trying to calm his wife down. "First let me give you this," said Clef handing something over to Ascot. He then went over to Ferio and handed him something. Then finally he went to Eagle and handed him something also. "Is that...?" trailed off Umi hardly daring to breath. "Yes," said Ascot looking at the two rings in his hand. The two rings were beautiful...one was a simple band of gold, the other had a single stone set into it...it was a beautiful ocean blue color, the color of Umi's hair, swirled with another darker blue...the color of Umi's eyes. Ascot knelt on one knee and asked Umi, as he took her hand, "Umi...Will you marry me once again...my beautiful goddess?" "Yes Ascot...yes!" shouted Umi embracing Ascot joyously. "ACCKK! Umi...can't...breathe," gasped out Ascot as he was hugged to death by Umi. "Oh sorry Ascot," said Umi sheepishly rubbing the back of her head. Ascot slipped the ring on her finger and whispered, "Umi..." Umi just grabbed his head and pulled it down to hers for a kiss. "Well looks like those two will be occupied for a while," joked Ferio as he opened his own hand. On the palm of his hand lay two rings. One a band of gold inset with stones resembling jade and the other was a thinner band of gold with three stones on it. The middle stone larger then the other two and was the color of Fuu's eyes. The other two were a lighter color of green but no less beautiful. Ferio bent down and sweeped Fuu up into his arms whispering into he ear, "Will you consent to being my wife once again, my beautiful Fuu, and become my queen?" "Oh Ferio," sighed Fuu, "Of course I will." "Well there's no doubt what's in my hand then," said Eagle jokingly, as he opened his hand up. One ring shone upon the palm of his hand. It was a ring of braided gold. Three lines of gold intertwined. Eagle gently pulled apart the ring until it began three thin rings of beauty. "When placed together they are one, when apart they are not whole," said Lantis. On each ring was a small stone set into it. Eagle handed Hikaru the one with the red stone, and Lantis the one with the violet stone. The one with the liquid amber stone he kept to himself. "When together we are one," whispered Eagle as he looked into both Hikaru and Lantis' eyes. "When apart we are not whole," whispered Hikaru. "We will always be together," said Hikaru fiercely. "Right," said Eagle, smiling. "Of course," replied Lantis simply. "Alright cut out the cheesiness!" shouted Umi, she then whirled around to Clef and said dangerously, "Now tell us what happened....stop stalling." "I was not stalling," replied Clef with a sweatdrop on his head. "Sure you weren't Pillsbury Dough boy!" shouted Umi. "Uhh Umi, Clef doesn't looking anything like the Pillsbury doughboy," said Ferio. "Who asked you!" shouted Umi, "If I say he's the Pillsbury doughboy then he's the Pillsbury dough boy!!" "Alright Umi," said Ferio knowing not to get Umi riled up. "Good," huffed Umi haughtily. "Umi dear why don't you sit down now," said Ascot trying to calm her down. "Okay, story, now," said Hikaru looking at Clef. Clef sighed once again... for the hundreth time and said, "After Hikaru's death...Lantis killed himself with his own sword. Lantis remained unperturbed as he heard of his own death...yet he remembered..the blinding pain and finally peaceful oblivion. "And?" asked Umi holding up a fist. "When Eagle heard about the death of Lantis...he...somehow he managed to use up all his mind power and went into a deep slumber...he died three months later," replied Clef. Eagle just stood there shocked...he remembered...he had hooked himself up to the computer on the NSX bridge and had programmed it to let all his mind power flow into the goddamn machine...putting him into an eternal sleep. Hikaru herself stood there...her pain was evident at how her own death had been the cause of her lover's deaths. "Keep going midget," snarled Umi. Ascot placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and said, "It's alright." Those two words served to calm her down...she leaned against him for support and sighed saying, "I'm sorry Clef...it's just that...it's very emotional and hard for me to listen to my friend's deaths...and also my own." "I understand," said Clef solemnly. "Tell us...how did we die?" asked Fuu quietly. "We found out about two new monsters...so powerful and angry attacking the nether regions of Cephiro," replied Clef, "You two went to fight them...and never came back. Later we found out that the monsters had disappeared soon after your deaths...and we found out that those monsters had been created from your own hearts...Deep down inside you had wanted to join Hikaru." "At least I died fighting," replied Umi smiling...but it was a fake smile and everyone knew it. "How did I die Guru Clef?" asked Ferio quietly. "When You and Ascot found out what had happened..." Clef trailed off and let the silence answer for her. "The death of one person led to the death of many," whispered Umi. "But now you're back," said Clef smiling faintly, "The pillar has been restored and we can all be happy." "No," said Eagle softly, "We can't." "The Creator will not allow us to be with Hikaru," said Lantis softly. "You just met her!" shouted Umi. "But I-we love her," replied Eagle, "What's in our hearts cannot be changed." Clef coughed slightly and said, taking out the hilt of a sword...dull grey with a stone, the color of Cephiro's skies, set in the middle of it, "Kailu...your sword." Lantis accepted it and said, "Thank you." Suddenly a tiny voice shouted, "Lantis you came back!!!!!" A small teal haired fairy appeared and said happily, "I knew you'd come back for me." Eagle chuckled and asked Hikaru, "Would you like to take a walk in the garden?" "Okay," replied Hikaru smiling up at him, she then turned to Lantis and asked, "You coming with us?" "Of course," replied Lantis unemotionally his face revealing nothing. The pixie fluttered up to Hikaru and shouted, "Stop putting the moves on MY LANTIS!!!" Eagle quickly put his arm around Hikaru blocking Primera's view of Hikaru saying, "Let's go now I'm sure the flowers are very beautiful." "Alright," said Hikaru happily as she skipped ahead looking very much like a child. ***** "I remember this place," gasped Hikaru as she walked to the fountain. "Beautiful," replied Eagle following her but his liquid amber eyes were not looking at the scenery...they were looking at her. The three sat down against a tree...like they had in the park...and began to talk. ***** "You realize that we might not be able to be together," said Eagle quietly. "No we made a promise together," said Hikaru defiantly as she stood up and glared at her two lovers, "And we are not breaking it!" Eagle looked at her and said softly, "Our love is hopeless in this life as it was hopeless in the one before...but I don't care I want to stay with you and Lantis...we will be together...no matter what." "And you Lantis," said Hikaru turning to him, "What is you opinion...what do you want to do." "I won't give you up," replied Lantis quietly, "I lost you once I won't lose you again." "That's good to hear," said Umi popping out of the tree above them. "UMI!" shouted Hikaru in surprise as she jumped away from the tree, "How did you-" "That's for me to know and you to find out," replied Umi flipping back her hair. "I'm very sorry Ms. Hikaru," said a very flustered Fuu, "But Ms. Umi dragged me up the tree...I have no choice but to spy on you." "Oh well...why don't we head back," said Umi quietly, "We still need to discuss what we're gonna do." "We know what we're gonna do," said Eagle, "We're staying together!" "Of course we know that," snapped Umi, "I meant what we're gonna do if the creator of marshmallows suddenly shows up!!" "Try to reason with him," replied Eagle, "And if that doesn't work-" A hiss sounded behind them and they turned to see Lantis making the blade of magic appear from his sword. Eagle grinned and finished off by saying, "Then we fight." "We'll fight together," said Hikaru looking at her two dear friends and sisters. "Right," said Umi smiling. And with that the four hurried on back to the castle. ***** "Hey Fuu where'd ya get the...is that chainmail?" asked Umi. "It's something usually worn under plain armor...rather then magical ones," replied Clef, "However this 'chainmail' as you call it was your invention Umi...long ago." "What Chainmail was invented back on Earth long before I knew about it," replied Umi. "I meant the chainmail you invented," replied Clef, "The one you intertwined with magic and Escudo." "Oh!" said Umi in realization, "I remember that." "These are the ones you constructed for the magic knights," said Clef, "With Presea's help...you were able to use Escudo." "Now this is weird...Umi making armor," said Eagle wonderingly, "I would've never thought it." "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WOULD'VE NEVER THOUGHT IT!" shouted Umi in SD form. "Uh no offense Umi but you don't seem like the girl who would," replied Eagle sheepishly. "HMPH!" huffed Umi as she turned around and walked away to Ascot.
