Umi got her into the palace easily by telling the guards that Kaori was a friend who came to play. Umi went back to her investigation work. Umi was going to ask all the people in the palace to see if they have found anything funny the night the diamond was stolen. It was useless, no one noticed a thing. She went to Ascot's room, she knew he won't know a thing, but still it would worth a try. Ascot came to the door when she knocked. Ascot blushed immediately when he saw Umi. Umi smiled "Hi, Ascot!" Ascot greeted her still with the blush on his face. Umi asked "Ascot, I wonder have you seen anything in the night that Super star was stolen." Ascot thought for a minute, he was so cute when he looked thoughtful and serious, Umi thought to herself smiling. Ascot said "I have seen a white blur in the outside of the palace that night, I just thought it was doves or something like that. Is this any use at all?" Umi noted that down on a pad, that was the only thing she found useful. She sighed happily, gave Ascot a hug "Thank you!" she called as Ascot blushed "Umi, beware that people might see this and report to your brother." Ascot said quietly. Umi smiled at him "Let him pull the fuss, I don't care!" She gave him a squeeze in the hand and asked "Care to show me where you have seen that white blur?" Ascot nodded. When the two people reached the place where Ascot saw the white blur, Umi realized it was the outside the room where the super star has been. Mokona ran up to them with Kaori running behind him. Umi noted in her pad "the white blur was found in the outside of the tower." Umi asked Kaori "What are you doing here?" Kaori held Mokona tightly to her. "The Tower was really high, Eagle said that Shuuichi-kun knew how to use a whip. The whip he used was really long, he could use it as a rope to climb up the window, then get the diamond away from the room." Umi asked "Are you supposing that Hikaru's brother really would do something like that?" Kaori said absently "Just one of the possibilities, but then lots of other people good at using whips could do that." Umi said "Hikaru-chan's brother could not have done something like that." Kaori looked at her with her green eyes then said "There should be no grudges or emotions involved in investigations or the evidence might be biased." Umi sighed "I know, but still I can't believe it." Kaori said "I don't believe he did this either. I think someone else did it." Umi asked facing her "Who do you think did it then?" Kaori smiled innocently "Its a secret!" Umi frowned "Stop giving me these answers!" Kaori giggled "You looked so funny, Umi-chan! I'm going to check out the locks again, though I suppose the police force did that." Ascot asked "Kaori, didn't you know that the police office had a battle going on now?" Kaori asked "When is this? With who?" Ascot smiled "Kurama's fans invaded the police office yesterday, so no one from the police force had spare time for this case. You brothers got to go to the investigation head quarters to collect the hairs and leaves Fuu found that day when you all entered the room." Kaori asked "Really? The police were being attacked by Kurama's crazy fans?" Ascot nodded "This sounds absurd, I know." Kaori muttered "Unbelievable." Fuu walked to the security quarters by herself, she did what she was told by Umi, she did where an office lady suit, she wore a white jacket and white skirt. She felt really awkward in tights and high heels, but if its these sort of clothes that the guard wanted and would let her in, she must try it. The security quarters was in the second floor south wing of the palace. A guard was standing there. Umi proved to be wrong. Fuu walked up to the guard. The guard stopped her and asked "Can I see your identity prove please?" Fuu bit her lip, she was trying to think of a way to prove herself but come up with nothing. The guard smiled "You're one of Umi's friends whom Umi sent to play a trick on me?" Fuu blushed. Just then Ferio appeared, "She's my partner, I got our identity card." Ferio said handing the guard a piece of card, Ferio whispered something in the guard's ear then. He guard looked at him, bowed at him, then let them in. Fuu stared at Ferio questioningly. Ferio opened the door for her and stepped in after her. Ferio shut the door once they were inside. "Why are you here?" Fuu asked Ferio. Ferio smiled "To see you." Fuu blushed as she looked around the room, the room was bare with only a computer desk and a chair in front of the computer. All the login names the passwords were written on a piece of paper next to the keyboard. Fuu smiled to herself, it won't be that hard to get the computer cameras to show what they took that night. Ferio said "Well, that is all I could help you." Fuu smiled at him and bowed "Thank you." She sat down in front of the computer, turned it on. She blushed when she felt that Ferio was resting his hands on her shoulder. She logged into the network. Then entered the program that managed the cameras. She then checked the pictures section. Ferio whispered "You seemed to be quite skilled in this." Fuu smiled "Thank you for the compliment." Ferio's arms wrapped around her shoulder as he saw a date. Fuu blushed then asked "What is it?" He pointed to the screen. It was the time when the super star was stolen. Fuu selected that picture, then to her surprise, the pictures were taken in black and white. Ferio said "Black and white? Not much help, I suppose." Fuu nodded but still she looked at the picture carefully and there was a ray of light entering from the window, the diamond was not seen in the picture. Fuu searched in her hand bag for a disk. Ferio looked at his watch. "Got to go now, I got a show tonight, got dress rehearsal now. Can't be late, bye." He called as he got out of the room. Fuu looked at her watch. It was seven. She got her disk from the driver then stayed another two hours to check out a few more photos. She logged out and turn off the computer, got her hand bag and turned to leave. She found a bunch of lilies in the doorway. She picked it up. An envelope tumbled out. It was addressed to her. She took the card out, there was a piece of paper in the card, it was the card Ferio gave to the guard. Fuu read the card, it says. "Sorry, Can't take you to the show tonight, can you please go to Hyde park after your work? Yours, Ferio." Fuu blushed as she saw a ticket to the skating show, it was in one of the front rows. She gasped as she realized that the show would be over when she reached the park. By an unknown force she pushed herself to run out of the palace into the snowy streets then into the park. She looked at her watch in the main opening of the park. She was thirty minutes late. But still she got into the park and stared into the lake and sighed. She panted. Too late she thought catching her breath. "Fuu!" someone called from behind her. She turned to see Ferio standing behind a tree in a black tuxedo. She smiled then ran to him. He held a white rose out to her. He grinned at her "I have been here waiting for you for thirty minutes" She held the rose he handed to her in her hand. He held her other hand in his. There were light feathery snow falling from the sky. Ferio took his jacket off and wrapped it around Fuu. Fuu stepped closer to him whispered softly, blushed, smiling sweetly "Thank you, for today's identity card and tonight's thirty minutes." Ferio smiled as he kissed her hand. "Thanks for making effort to come here." They walked out of the park hand in hand. "Those leaves actually came from roses." Lantis explained to Hikaru about the report the investigation head quarters gave them. They were sitting together in Terrisa, Hikaru's cousin's sitting room. Terissa was blushing when she saw Hikaru brought a man home. "Roses?" Hikaru asked. Lantis nodded "The biggest problem about this was how could the rose's leaves entered the room." Hikaru looked at him. "From the window, I think. Kaori-chan said that the lock have not been forced." Lantis said "But how? I mean, how could it enter from the window? The wind blew it in?" Hikaru blushed "I don't know." Lantis asked then "Those white fur could only be identified by being from an animal living on the ground. What is this animal then? A mammal?" Hikaru said "Maybe, sure it was not from some stuffed toy?" Lantis shook his head. Hikaru asked "What is Mokona actually?" Lantis asked "Mokona? Well, even Kaori didn't know and she was his real mistress." Hikaru said "We must find out where those hair came from. And the silver hair was from a youko, that already was a prove, How could Shuuichi nii- san be a youko when he was given birth by a human." Hikaru said happily. Lantis still looked doubtful. Hikaru asked in concern "Are you all right, Lantis?" Lantis asked her "Have you heard of shape shifters?" Hikaru shook her head. "Nothing then." Lantis said quietly. "Well, got to go now, I promised Eagle that I'll be back at ten to give him some advice on his papers. Bye, Hikaru." Lantis called as he went out of the living room to the door. Hikaru walked him to the door "Well, I might go with Kaori-chan tomorrow to check on some more clues." Lantis said " Remember to turn in every piece of evidence no matter they are against Shuuichi-kun or not." Hikaru smiled "I'm not as unintelligent as that. And by the way, what could be against Shuuichi nii-san, when he was really innocent." Lantis nodded smiled then got out of the house. Hikaru walked back into her room happily. Terrisa was a poor girl, her parents died leaving her penniless, she was living by the money her aunt gave her, that is awfully little. So the house was not as big as Hikaru's house. But Terrisa was a terribly good girl, she never think up of any evil or mischievous ideas and was polite to everyone like Fuu. Terrisa has pale complexion, long sunlight blonde hair and blue eyes, she would look like one of those princesses in fairy tales if she wants to be, in Hikaru's opinion. Terrisa was in her room. Hikaru asked smiling "What's the matter?" Terrisa went up to her, she was sixteen, a year younger than Hikaru. "I got this, Hikaru-chan." She opened her hands and showed Hikaru the biggest diamond she had ever seen. It was set on a plain gold ring. "Would you like it as a Christmas present?" Hikaru smiled "Where did you get that?" she asked. Terrisa blushed "In the snow. I don't know if its real or not." Hikaru said with a grin "Do you think people would be careless enough to drop their diamonds in the snow like this? Its just a fake one, made from glass, I think." Terrisa smiled and nodded. "Well, if you found it in the snow, it belongs to you. I think. Put it on." Hikaru insisted. Terrisa asked "You don't like it?" Hikaru nodded "Its beautiful, but it was useless to me since I don't wear jewels. It will look so much better on you."
