Since it's late now I might as well go with you to find a cottage to spend the night." Fuu nodded. Ferio touched his shoulder "Can I keep your handkerchief?" Fuu was quite taken aback by the question "You could keep it, your shoulder was not healed yet." Ferio smiled "Thanks." They walked to a little village, there they found one of the cottages was exceptionally small and worn and most of all, it's far away from other cottages. Since they were both tired, they knocked on the cottage's little door. After a few knocks a little girl about twelve came out. The girl looked as if she expected visitors. She smiled at them "What can I help you?" Fuu realized that the little girl was cute in the most girlish way with pale pink hair and blue purple eyes. "We wish to stay here for the night, is there any place in the house." The little girl nodded and said "Yes!" Fuu asked "Don't you have to ask your parents?" The girl nodded "Yes, uncle said that you can come in." Fuu looked at Ferio. Ferio whispered "Remember to pretend to be my wife." Fuu blushed and nodded. Ferio held her hand as they walked into the living room. Strangely, as they entered the house they felt that there was a ki that surrounded them, protecting them. The door closed automatically behind them. An old man was waiting for them in the living room. There were already two cups of tea and a plate of cookies waiting for them on the table. The old man said "I see that our guests have arrived." The little girl said "Yes uncle, so your dream did come true." The old man smiled "Cherry, when did the things that I dreamt of never happened?" The little girl Cherry said "Never!" The old man turned to the couples "Oh, please excuse me, I beg of you to have a seat." They sat down on the old sofa. "You have been expecting guests?" Fuu asked. The old man said "We have been expecting you. I knew you would come from last night's dream. I want you to do something for me." Fuu asked "What is it?" Ferio held her back whispered into her ear "What happened if he asked you to do something you can't do?" Fuu said "There was no harm in knowing it though." The old man smiled "You can do it." Ferio asked "What is it then?" the Old man said "Bring my niece Cherry to Madoshi Clef across the desert. Cherry could show the way." Cherry nodded. Ferio asked "Why should we help you then?" The old man smiled then "Of-course, since you're the victims of the witch hunt as well. My niece would be the victim as well later, so shouldn't you people help her?" Fuu said "But there are millions of these victims, why us?" The old man said "Another good question its because you could stop these witch hunters." Fuu asked "How?" the old man said "Clef will tell you how." Ferio asked then "Why can't you bring her there?" The old man sighed "What a lot of questions. Because you need her help. I could see that this young man called Ferio here has no magic and the little girl called Fuu Hououji here have not got enough power to control over her magic here and there is no harm in bringing someone so you could have more powers. I can not bring her because I have to leave here to night to go to the sacred place tonight to guard that place from the evil force behind the witch hunters." Fuu asked "Evil force?" the old man closed his eyes "Yes, the evil force from Cefiro, from the place, probably from the hashira Princess Emeraude." Ferio seemed to be quite shaken with the name Emeraude "What happened?" the old man said "It happened a long time ago, it's ancient, before you're born." Just then they heard a loud bang. They turned to see Cherry slamming the window shut with all her might. The old man said calmly "Those women again?" Cherry nodded "Yes, those women invented new things to gossip about us again." The old man said "But, remember, we have guests here, you will scare them off, if you see them again, just threw them a spell that will make them shut up straight." Cherry said "I prefer poisoning them." Then old man said "If you liked to, just don't make too much noise next time." Cherry said "All right." Ferio could only frown at the little girl, he can't believe that little girls of this age would talk of poisoning people and her uncle will just encourage her to do it. The old man stood up "It might be time for me to go." Cherry asked "To the shrine in the Forest of silence?" her uncle nodded "Yes, it's time." The old man turned to them "beware of the night. The fire of Heaven was coming down on earth tonight in this village, all the dirty hearts will be burnt." Cherry asked "What is the fire of heaven?" her uncle just said "A tool for the gods to punish the sinners." Cherry asked "Have you warned the villagers about it?" the old man said "I have sent my dream of the punishment to the elderly of this village, will they take it seriously, it's entirely their choice. I bet they wouldn't since there were this misunderstanding between us and the villagers for years." Cherry nodded "All right, will they save themselves its entirely their choice." Then the old man disappeared from the door. Ferio asked "Okay, Cherry, do you mind explaining what your uncle wants to say?" Cherry said "I don't mind, but I have to have someone who could explain to me what he means first." Ferio put on a very fake patient face "But you're his niece and you should understand what he's talking about since you lived with him all your life." Cherry explained "No, I didn't live with him all my life, I have just lived with him for two years and I never could understand what he wants to say. He's really weird, you have heard him encouraging me to poison the women out there a while ago. And he talked about heaven and hell lots of times, but whenever I asked him what he was talking about, he won't answer. I just knew that what he says has to be true and all you have to do was to go to Clef with me." Ferio sighed "We'll set off tomorrow then." He then slumped on the sofa and fell asleep. Fuu turned to Cherry "Cherry-san, is there a spell here in this house?" Cherry smiled "You felt it as well?" Fuu nodded. Cherry said "We got locked here by Uncle, so nothing harmful could get in or we can't get into the danger outside." Fuu asked "Protect from the Flames of heaven?" Cherry nodded "Probably." Cherry then asked "Where do you wish to sleep tonight? Not with that guy over there." She pointed to Ferio who was snoring already. Fuu answered with a blushed "Anywhere." Cherry said "In my room then." She led the way in. Cherry's room was nearly as empty as Ferio's cabin, there was only a closet there and a bunk bed. Just as Cherry was climbing onto the top bunk, Fuu asked "Is there any more blankets?" Cherry asked "Oh, for the guy outside? Your husband?" Fuu flushed. Cherry jumped down from her bunk and went to the closet to pull out an old worn blanket. "You got it." She said as she handed Fuu the blanket. Fuu walked out to the living room, Ferio already changed the pose in his sleep. Fuu walked near him as he grabbed her arm. He called "Sister...Fuu..." in his sleep. Fuu blushed as she got her hand freed and put the blanket on top of him. He called again "Sister..." Fuu sighed as she went to her room, it was obvious that Ferio had suffered before he went to the Forest of Silence. "We should go now..." Ferio and Fuu heard Cherry*s voice. "What*s wrong?" Ferio asked as he got dressed. Cherry said, her face pale "Look out of the window." Fuu walked over to the window. She could only stand there and watch, the scene was horrible. The whole village disappeared with only burnt houses and wood poles standing on the bare floor which the village had been. Evil looking black crows was croaking on the trees nearby. Something was moving in the dry breeze. Something's rolling near them. A head, a human head detached from it's body with distorted features, not much of a face was left to be seen. Fuu gasped as her legs gave away, Ferio held her just as she was about to fall. "What the..." he managed to say. Cherry said "Flames of heaven'" they were silent for five minutes then Cherry managed to say again "We should be moving by now." Fuu nodded as they went on to pack their things.
