It seems like Aria-chan's starting to recover, because we now have the 3rd
installment of this fic. She didn't really add that much to my draft of
this part, but she did make the scenes a bit more interesting to visualize. ^^
Disclaimers: They do not belong to us and... you know the rest.

Aria: [clutching a screeching 003] Kawaii! Kawaii!!!
Watari: [sweatdropping] Aria-chan, I think that's about enough....
Aria: [sticks tongue out at Watari] I'm chibi. I'm supposed to love
cuteness.
Watari: I know, but you're strangling my owl!
Aria: I get to be like this until your stupid potion wears off.
[smiles evilly] Makes you wish that you hadn't put that potion in,
doesn't it?
Watari: Why, you....

Part 3
"I don't know how you talked me into this...."
"Let's just say that I needed the change in scenery."
Subaru shook his head as he took one of Kamui's suitcases
and carried it into the guestroom of Seishirou's apartment.
He hadn't made any changes to the place, since he was
mostly out. Granted, the place looked pretty gloomy
the way it was, but it matched his current mood perfectly.
He set the suitcase down beside the bed just as the boy
entered carrying the other one.
"One thing puzzles me though," Subaru said as he moved
towards the door. "How did you get the others to agree to
you moving out of the Imonoyama Estate?"
"It's a... long story...."
~~ Flashback ~~
"Are you out of your mind?!"
Kamui rolled his eyes as Sorata began rattling out the
dangers of moving out of the security of the Imonoyama
Estate and CLAMP Campus. Agreed, this was not one of
his brighter ideas, but how was he supposed to look out
for Subaru if he was practically on the other side of the city?
"I would have to agree with Sorata on this one," Arashi
said as she stepped forward. "You would only present
yourself as an open target for the Dragons of Earth should
you choose to continue with this."
The young Seal sighed in annoyance. "Look, it's not like
I will be in much danger," he said. "One, I am strong
enough to defend myself against any of the remaining
Angels, even Fuuma. Two, there is no point in attacking
me where I will be because there is no kekkai anywhere
near the apartment. And three, I'll be staying with Subaru.
They will have to think twice before attacking the person
who defeated the Sakurazukamori."
"Honey, I'm not sure if this particular realization has hit
you yet," Karen interjected as she placed a hand on Kamui's
shoulder. "But, Subaru is now THE Sakurazukamori. You
said yourself that that title is passed onto the person who
kills the current Sakurazukamori. I admit, I don't know
him that well, but what makes you think that he won't
eventually turn on you?"
"Karen-san's right," Seiichiro Aoki agreed. "As much
as I respect your decision, Kamui, I cannot in good
conscience allow you to do this."
"What makes any of you think that I'm asking for your
permission?!!" He watched with mild satisfaction as the
other five Seals visibly backed away. He heard Inuki
whimper as he hid behind Yuzuriha. "I just TOLD you
where I was going. I don't care whether or not you agree
with my decision." Energy was crackling through his
clenched fists, signaling that he was on the verge of
losing his temper. "None of you understand him the
way I do, which is why I took it upon myself to do
this. I KNOW that he will not turn on me."
~~ End Flashback ~~
Kamui thought
as he started to put his things away in the closet and the
bureau. A few minutes, later, Subaru appeared bringing
with him some hangers for Kamui's clothes. "Thanks,"
Kamui said as he unfolded his school uniforms and hung
them up. He could see Subaru watching him out of the
corner of his eye. Come to think of it, the onmyouji WAS
starting to act a little strange.
"Would you like to have some tea?" Subaru asked finally.
"Uhm, sure."
A few minutes later, the two of them were sitting in the
kitchen with a pair of steaming cups of green tea between
them.
"The kitchen seems to be a bit underused," Kamui observed
between sips. "Subaru, do you cook or do you just have
your food delivered?"
"I don't eat."
"Oh," Kamui said as he set down the cup and moved
towards the fridge. Opening it, all he saw were some
old pieces of bread, bad cheeses and some cans of beer.
he thought as he pulled up the trashcan and started
throwing the bad foodstuffs out. He could feel Subaru's
bemused gaze on his back and said, "from now on, I will
see to it that you eat decent food. I get out of school pretty
early, so I can tidy up here and cook when you're out and
then...." Kamui's rambling came to a grinding halt as he
heard an unfamiliar sound.
Subaru was laughing.
"Subaru?" Kamui said as he looked back at the onmyouji
in confusion.
"It's nothing," Subaru said as he stifled the rest of his
chuckles. "It's just that you sounded so much like my
sister just now...."
A rare smile came to Kamui's face then. "You know, this
is the first time I've ever heard you laugh... or seen you smile."
"I don't really have a lot of things to be happy about of late."
"Well, I'm glad that I've been of service in that department,"
Kamui replied with an even bigger smile. "Now, I'm going
to make a grocery list...."
The two of them went through the entire apartment, checking
rooms and basically taking inventory of what was there. They
had reserved Seishirou's bedroom, currently Subaru's, for last,
knowing that it would be the hardest for the onmyouji to go
through. Upon entering, Kamui threw open the curtains and
opened the sliding glass panels that led to the terrace, thus
banishing the shadows that lingered within. Subaru watched
mutely as Kamui began opening closets and bureaus, his
black uniform making him look like a shadow flitting from
one end of the room to the other. He walked towards the
youth as Kamui pulled out one of Seishirou's Armani
suits from the closet.
"This might sound a little morbid," he began, "but
could you please put this on?"
"What for?"
"Subaru, could you, uhm, just humor me on this one?"
Subaru shook his head and went to the bathroom. A few
minutes later, he came back out, wearing the black suit.
It felt good on his skin, and it still smelled like Seishirou.
"It looks good on you," Kamui said approvingly.
"Kamui, it's too big."
"That's not a problem," the boy replied. "We can easily
have a tailor to fix it so that it fits you... unless... you don't
want to, well, be wearing HIS clothes. I admit, it does
seem a little unsettling."
"No," Subaru said as he looked at himself on the full-length
mirror mounted on the inside of one of Seishirou's
closet doors. "Actually, that is a pretty good idea. But
I'll limit that to just the suits...."
"Okay," Kamui said as he started to fix the mess he'd
made. "Well, looks like we're done here. Would you
like to come with me for the groceries?"
That night, Kamui slept like a rock.

Watari: Oh, come on! Haven't you had enough?!
Aria: [clutches 003 in both hands and flies away from Watari]
Can't catch me! [Poof! Aria and 003 are engulfed in a
cloud of smoke.]
Watari: [coughs] Now what...?
[Aria is back to her normal size and had landed in a
rather ungraceful pile on the floor.]
Aria: Mou... itai
Watari: Okay... now we know that the chibi-potion wears off
after one chapter installment... [003 lands on his shoulder,
way out of Aria's reach.]
