Day 2: Fusion Part 3
[Dreaming Memories 3]
The rain kept pouring down in Osaka. Young Kamui couldn't help but
feel the wetness of it as he held himself during the storm. He
waited for his mother to return just like he did when he had first
met Fuuma during the storm.
Now it was different.
"Kamui-san?" A familiar voice had spoke calmly from out of nowhwere.
Kamui turned to see the same girl from the playground the other day
holding an umbrella while facing him. "Are you okay? Why are you
outside during the storm?"
"Oh, it's you Inoue-san. I'm just waiting for my mother."
"You shouldn't be waiting like that. You'll catch a cold!" Inoue
exclaimed as she stepped closer to her friend. She offered a hand
to him. "Come with me."
"But...."
"Kamui, you can't just sit out in the rain and expect something good
to come out of this. If you keep out in the rain like this, something
bad might happen to you."
"I...." Kamui couldn't think of anything else to say so he reached
out his hand and grabbed Inoue's. She pulled him up and placed an
arm around him. "Let's go home...."
"Arigato Inoue-san....."
Both children made their way inside the house Inoue was living in.

-------------------------------------------
Kamui helped Arashi to her bedroom. He gently placed her on the bed
so she could rest after crying so much. He fetl sorry for her and
had no idea how to comfort her even more. So he left her in the
room and slipped out the door.
Once he closed the door, Kamui could still here slight sobs coming
from his friend. This was basically too much for him to handle. Or
so he thought.
/I better go downstairs and have a talk with Sorata. If I don't find
out what's going on...../
Taking a deep breath, he made his way downstairs and saw that Sorata
was on the couch sobbing with his head buried in a cushion. Kamui
sighed and walked over to him, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Sorata-kun?"
Sorata didn't answer. He just kept sobbing.
"Sorata? Can you tell me what's wrong?"
"I.....never....."
"Never what?"
"I never meant to hurt her....."
"You mean, Arashi?"
Raising his head, Sorata wiped the tears from his face and stared at
Kamui. "I just thought it was best if I broke up with her so she
wouldn't worry about me."
"You mean, you didn't broke up with Arashi because you found someone
else."
"Iie...." Sorata shook his head, not caring to ask if Kamui had
eavesdropped on the conversation he had with Arashi. "I never had
anyone else. It's just that...."
"What, Sorata?" Kamui waited for an answer.
"I just got back results from the doctor. Remember when I first went
over there to see what was wrong with me?"
"Yeah?"
"The results said that I..." Tears welled out of Sorata's eyes.
"...have cancer...."
"Nani?!" Kamui's eyes widen in shock. He felt stunned. "But how did
you manage to get that?"
"During my apointment, Doc said that I had a bump in my neck that was
malignant."
"How long have you had it?"
"For about six months. It was already there when I first felt it. I
didn't think it would be serious so I ignored it. But now...I
probably have three days to live--" Sorata's sentence was cut off
by the sound of his coughing. He covered his mouth and continued
coughing rapidly. Kamui examined his face and noticed that it was
pale. His eyes were soon filled with tears. "Oh, Sorata...."
"Don't worry. At least I was able to meet with you and the others...."
"Sorata!" Kamui didn't hesitate the minute he wrapped his arms around
the monk and began crying. "It's not fair! It's just not fair....." He
felt arms wrap around him, but he kept crying.
"It's alright, Kamui. No one lives forever...." Sorata gently held
the fragile Seal in his arms. This was probably fate.
--------------------------------
Once the gang was done with their meals, Takara glanced over at the
window. She had never seen this much snow since back in Manhattan. She
grabbed her glass on cream soda and drunk the last of it, taking one
big gulp before she placed it back on the table. /I wonder how my
family is doing back in New York? It's been about two weeks since I
left there and came back to Japan./
Turning back to the others, Takara noticed that Seishirou had already
got up from his seat. "Where are you going, Seishirou-san?"
"I have to go over to the Government Building for personal reasons."
"Shall we come?"
"That's quite alright. Wouldn't want to waste your time...."
Takara would of protested but she kept silent while her cousin Kaneda
just sat there and wrote down a check. "Take care of yourself then,
Seishirou-san."
With a slight nod, the assassin left out of the food shoppe after
putting on his coat. Once he was outside, he disappeared. It began
snowing again. But only few snowflakes fell this time.
Takara shifted her head back to the window and sighed. Winter was
probably the most depressing season of all. Either that or maybe she
was just having bad feelings about it.
"So should we go ahead and return back to the mansion?" Kaneda's
voice caught his cousin's attention once more. But she didn't turn
to face him. "Sure. Can we stop at one more place first?"
"Sure. Where's that?"
Shifting her auburn eyes back at Kaneda, she spoke in a low tone only
he could hear. "Tokyo Tower."
---------------------------------------------
Kamui and Sorata were in the kitchen fixing themselves something to
eat, unsure if Arashi would come down. "So what happened to the
others, Sorata?"
"Yuzuriha had left with to go and visit her relatives. Subaru went
back to Kyoto to gather a few things he'll need in case of an
emergency for the Final Battle. He's also going to visit his
grandmother and relatives. Seiichirou said he'll come over soon. I'm
not so sure about Karen though."
"So...its only me, you, and Arashi?"
"I believe so." Sorata started coughing once again. Kamui was about
to respond until the monk raised his hand. "I'm okay. It was just a
phase."
Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Kamui quickly went to it and opened the
door, only to be surprised by Ayane's appearance. She wore a black
overcoat and her hair was tied in a French bun. "Matsushima-san! I
didn't know you were coming."
"Please, just call me Ayane instead. I decided to come visit you
since I'm taking a long break from my acting career. Is that alright?"
"Hai! Come on in!" Standing aside, the Seal allowed the woman to enter
the mansion. Once shedid, she unbuttoned her overcoat and revealed
wearing a royal blue-colored polo-collared dress with a pair of black
loafer shoes. Ayane hung up her coat and was guided into the kitchen
by her young friend. "Hello there, Sorata."
"Ohayo, Ayane-chan!" Sorata smiled as he saw their guest from last
night. "So nice of you to visit us."
"Thanks. Just I'd come by and see how you and the others were doing."
"Well, most of us went to go and see their relatives. The rest stayed
here."
"I see...." Glancing around the kitchen, the actress sat down near
the counter. "So how's it going?"
Both Sorata and Kamui looked at each other and back at Ayane, unsure
to tell her about the monk's condition. "Um....we've been doing well
so far--" Once again, Sorata was coughing really hard. Suddenly, there
was slight drops of blood coming out of his mouth. Kamui's eyes widen
in shock.
Ayane glanced at the monk and gasped in horror witnessing the sudden
condition of her friend. "K-kamui?"
Kamui didn't hear her. He was too shocked while staring at the effect
the disease was causing.
"Kamui, what happened to--"
Her voie was suddenly caught off by the sound of a glass breaking.
All three of them slowly turned towards the entrance of the kitchen,
where the sound came from, and saw Arashi staring widely at Sorata
with her left hand bleeding.
"Kishuu-chan?" Ayane was the only one who spoke after gathering her
strength. "Kishuu-chan, what happened to your?"
"Sorata...Sorata...." was the only thing Arashi could say. She so
shocked, so afraid for Sorata's life that she just stood there pale
with fear. "Sorata...why...."
"Neechan, I...." Sorata couldn't find the words to say. He got up and
began to walk over to her. "Arashi, I'm so sorry. I didn't want to...."
But she didn't listen. Her heart was too mixed with emotions. It was
too much to bear after finally realizing her love for the monk. But
now that she had found out the truth, Arashi felt speechless; hurt by
the lie he told. And yet.... "Why did you lie to me, Sorata? I
believed you!"
Ayane spoke on Sorata's defense. "Whatever he said to, it was
probably because he didn't want you to worry."
"I don't care!!" Arashi was now screaming as anger washed over her
heart. "He shouldn't of lied to me. I would of understood his
condition!"
"But he--" Too late for Kamui to explain the main reason, Arashi had
already bolted away from the kitchen and ran back upstairs as she
began to cry once more. "Arashi-san....."
Ayane sighed. She wasn't expecting this the minute she arrived at the
mansion. But not everything is to expected, was it. Looking back at
Sorata who wiped the slight blood from his lips, she got up and
approached him. Her hand placed on his shoulder. "It's alright. She
just needs time to relax and think it over. In the meantime, I'm
gonna take you to the hospital."
The monk turned his head, slowly facing the actress with an almost-
pleading look in his eye. "But...Arashi...she...."
"You need to worry about yourself first. Kamui can stay here and keep
an eye on her while I take you to get medical attention."
"I guess...." Sorata sighed, giving in, as they both began walking
out of the kitchen. Kamui followed.
Soon as they got to the door, Ayane looked at the young Seal. "If
Seiichirou or Karen arrives, tell them that I'm taking Sorata to the
hospital."
"Hai. I'll do that." As much as Kamui wanted to come, he didn't want
to leave Arashi alone. He watched as both left the mansion.
Ayane took the monk towards her car and placed him in the passenger's
seat. Once she got in the driver's seat, Ayane turned on the engine
and drove them into the city. She regretted not being able to see her
best friend and Karen, but right now she had to get Sorata towards the
hospital. After that, she would call the mansion and tell them of his
condition.....
End of Day 2: Fusion Part 3
Finished Part 3 on Halloween. Day 2 might take longer than I thought.
I'll be trying to make a
bit short, I think. Look for Part 4.
