Part 2
After school, the bell rung and many students started running out of
the school. Kamui was among them. He didn't see his Keiichi, Arashi,
or Yuzu as soon as school was over. However, he did seen Miko once
more. She was slowly walking out of the Clamp Campus while still
holding her basket and case. Miko had slid across from a crowd of
students and paid no attention to the others.
Kamui turned and started walking away from the school. A few minutes
had passed and the young Seal had made it back to the mansion. When
he got to the door, he reached for the doorknob. Suddenly, there was
sounds of running coming from behind him.
/I was being followed?!/
Kamui halted for a minute to see who it was. Was it an Angel? Fuuma?
Somehow, he felt a slight presence coming from behind him. And there
was slight breathing too. Finally, he turned around and faced whoever
had followed him to the mansion.
Once again, his eyes softened the minute he saw Miko. She was panting
softly, nearly clutching at her chest while holding her basket and
case with the other hand.
"I'm so glad I followed you...."
"What're you doing here? Why did you follow me?"
"You forgot something."
"I did?"
"Hai." Miko finally caught her breath and walked towards Kamui, reaching
into her basket. She pulled out a small wallet. Kamui looked at it and
sheepish grin came across his face.
"Uh....hehehehe.... Thanks." He nervously chuckled and took back his
wallet. "Well, since you're already here, wanna come inside for awhile?"
Before responding, Miko looked up at the mansion. It was huge. She
wondered how many people were living in it besides Kamui. She faced
him again and smiled. "Sure, why not?"
Opening the door, Kamui stood aside and offered to let his friend go
in first. Miko gladly went in and took off her shoes. She stepped
further into the mansion and got a good look at what this place
looked like inside. "Whoa!"
Kamui closed the door and took off his shoes too. "So how did you
like it?"
"It's beautiful!" The young girl exclaimed. Her eyes were dazzled by
the designs of this mansion.
The young Seal walked over into the kitchen. "Where do you live at?"
Still looking around, Miko followed Kamui into the kitchen and sat at
the counter. "I live somewhere in Shinjuku with my cousin."
"What about your parents?"
"I don't have any...." Miko lowered her eyes and folded her hands
together as she said this. Kamui opened the fridge then stopped after
he heard those words. Turning around to face her, there was a confused
expression on his face.
"You don't have any parents? I don't understand..." Kamui almost
trailed off speaking until he realized what she was talking about.
"Did your parents die?"
Miko shook her head. "I've never known them. All I remember is living
with my aunt and uncle. They both raised me, along with my cousin
Kurama."
The news brought a nearly sad look into Kamu's eyes. Mostly everyone
he had met were either orphans or living with their other family
members. And Miko seemed to be one of them, although she had never
knew her parents. "Has your aunt and uncle gave you any clue about
your parents?"
"No. All they could say is that they found me on the porch with a
note saying "Please take care of our daughter. Sorry that we couldn't
raise her ourselves...." And that was it." Miko raised her head and
saw the sad expression on her friend's face. A slight smile came
across her face.
"It's alright. There's no need to be sad for me. Life goes on no
matter what the consequences bring us...." Miko sighed and looked
outside the window. She noticed a few sakura petals flotating by.
Her eyes suddenly flared blue and she sighed after they turned
auburn again. Then she turned back Kamui and forced a slight smile
on her face. "Do you have anything to drink?"
"Oh, hai." Kamui nearly went into his sadness mode until Miko's voice
snapped him back into reality. He reached into the fridge and brought
out a bottle of milk. He placed it on the counter and reached into a
drawer and opened it. "Want some cookies to go with it?"
"That's okay. Do you have any pocky biscuits?"
Kamui thought for a moment. "Well, we do have some but my Yuzuriha
would get angry. She bought some for herself."
Miko giggled. "Okay then. Cookies, it is."
Meanwhile, in Shinjuku, the city was still the same as always. Subaru
was at a small cafe sitting outside while drinking his cappucino. His
emerald eyes were faintly watching crowds of people pass by him. He
could see many faces filled with happiness on them.
Happiness. It was just a word that meant nothing to those who wanted
to destroy the earth. Especially his former lover Seishirou.....
Subaru sighed and continued his drink. Suddenly, his caught on to
someone familiar. The same emerald-haired woman with the gray kimono
and silver pendant. She was walking by with a slight smile on her
face, but she didn't seem to notice him.
"Good afternoon, Iwasaki-san." Subaru flashed a slight smile while
looking at Kurama. She turned and saw the omnyouji from this morning
at the mansion.
"Oh, good afternoon, Sumeragi-san. I didn't notice you there." Kurama
grinned as she walked over to him. "So how are you doing today?"
"It was okay. Just went through a few things at my apartment and
decided to take a break from my work."
"I see. You're an omnyouji, right?"
Subaru nodded his head while taking a slight sip from his cappucino.
He saw Kurama sit down across from the short round table. "Hope you
don't mind...."
"No, it's okay. Sometimes I prefer to be alone but, since you're new
here, I'll take your company as an exception."
"Thank you." Kurama's grin got wider as she reached into her purse
and bought out a pack of cigarettes. "Oh, do you smoke?"
Subaru raised one eyebrow while looking at his friend. He smirked.
"Yes, as a matter of fact, I do."
"Okay then." Taking out a cigarette, Kurama was about to light it up
until someone else brought a ligther almost to her face and lit it
up for her. "Uh, thanks."
The stranger took his lighter and placed in his coat pocket. Subaru
faced him and his eyes suddenly widen after realizing who it was.
"Seishirou...."
Seishirou Sakurazuka was standing over the two, looking down at them
through his shades. "Why hello there, I didn't expect to see Subaru-
kun to have any company..."
"Huh?" Kurama shifted her head over to Seishirou and saw him
completely dressed up in a luxurious suit. "Um, nice to see you...."
"Seishirou. My name is Seishirou Sakurazuka."
Kurama's eyes widen by that name. She almost coughed after taking a
huge smoke from her cigarette. A few deep breathings and she was
slumped back into her chair.
Subaru turned back to his friend with a very deep concern in his
eyes. "Are you alright, Iwasaki-san?"
"Who, me?" Kurama faced Subaru once again, forcing a slight smile on
her lips. "I'm fine, thanks. Just that I should quit smoking for
awhile..."
"No need to. Subaru-kun and I smoke alot, it's nearly our hobby. But
I can see that you're used to smoking than I am...." Placing a hand
on the omnyouji's shoulder, Seishirou kept his eyes on the woman.
Subaru nearly shrugged and glared at the older man. "So what's your
name, miss?"
"My name is Kurama Iwasaki. I've come from Kyoto."
"Kyoto?" Seishirou raised one of his eyebrows and smirked once
more. "That's funny. Subaru-kun is also from--"
"Must you always run your mouth whenever I have a visitor around
me?!" Subaru grabbed Seishirou's hand and flung it away. Then he
got up and placed some money on the table. "I'd rather if you
weren't so flirtious while I have company."
"Well, what did you expect?"
Once again, Subaru found himself glaring at his enemy once more. He
placed the cup down gently, got out of his seat, grabbed Kurama's
hand, pulled her out of her seat, and walked away from him. He
pulled the teacher along with him. But then he stopped and turned
his head half-way to Seishirou who was still smirking at him. "You
know what I've been expecting..."
After that, he left the cafe with Kurama. But not before she waved
good-bye to the taller guy and disappeared with Subaru into a crowd.
Seishirou found himself smiling. Then he sighed and lowered his
head. "I guess I'm not good company after all...."
Then he lifted his head back and walked away from the cafe,
disappearing into the crowd as well.
To Be Continued.....
