Note:
The story started about 3 days before the day when Subaru met Seishirou in Nakano building (X number 08). And basically I wrote the story through Subaru's eyes.
If I made mistakes (I guess I did) for the titles. My japanese is not good…. *__*

CHAPTER 2 [Mo Aishimashou ka?]
[CAN WE MEET AGAIN?]
"Nee sannnn!!!!! "
A very VERY loud voice came from behind Subaru. There was only one thing that came to Subaru mind.
[Hokuto?]
Startled he turned around, to find a young girl was running to their side. Her waist length slightly
browns
coloured hair swinged behind her. she wore short white pants, an oversized blue-sky coloured sweater, her white jacket
tied around her tiny waist.
[Not Hokuto… ]
Subaru felt a slight disappointment in his heart. Subaru sometimes felt surprise to see how he never
stop to expect that Hokuto chan will suddenly appeared and said to him that these are merely joke.
She stopped between Subaru and Hashimoto, pointed to Subaru, she glared fiercely at him. "You! Who are you? How dare you touched Nee san!!"
Hashimoto who stood behind her, tried to calm her down. "Aoi! Aoi! Wait! You misunderstood!"
Aoi turned to Hashimoto and exclaimed, "HE!! He touched your hand! I…"
"Aoi!… A…" Hashimoto's voice trailed down, she felt to the ground. Just about time her head hit the ground,
Subaru caught her in his arms.
[She is so light… too light…]
Suddenly the previous two maids ran to his side. "Oh my God! Ojo Sama! Ojo Sama!!" Subaru carried Hashimoto in his arms, he commanded the maids to show him her room. Quickly the two maids asked him to follow them, while Aoi quickly followed them with quick steps.
The maids guided Subaru through a long corridor before they opened a big heavy door. The room was decorated in European style, which was way the opposite of the Japanese style exterior. A tall window in Gothic style, red coloured thick heavy velvet curtain with gold thread, queen size soft feathers bed covered with blue silk bed sheet, there were only definitely expensive high quality furniture inside.
Subaru gently put Hashimoto on the bed. One of the maids covered her with the soft blue bed cover. Subaru quickly stepped aside when the other maid brought a damp cloth and put it on to her forehead. He bumped into Aoi who was standing right behind him. Aoi was trembling. Subaru looked at her for a while before he said, "she is going to be ok, only a common fever."
[So that was why her hands felt hot just now…]
"No…" Aoi shook her head, her eyes locked onto Hashimoto's figure, and "this is not common…. not at all.... this is not.." Aoi was more like mumbled than talking. Her shock and panic had taken away the control.
"What do you mean?" Subaru was not told that the case has anything to do with this kinda thing. He took her arm, "come, we need to talk." He dragged her outside and she was to shock to protest at Subaru.
Subaru closed the door behind him. He turned to Aoi and folded his arms.
"So,… what is actually going on here?"
he demanded. He knew there was something wrong with Hashimoto, but what?
"It started 2 weeks ago… there…" Aoi suddenly stopped and glared at Subaru. "And why should I tell you this?? You haven't even told me who you are?!"
Subaru blinked in shock of her sudden yelling. He answered slowly,
"I am Sumeragi Subaru. I'm an onmyouji who is
invited to come today. And you are…"
Unexpectedly, Aoi blushed and her eyes widened in shock. Subaru just realised how blue were her eyes. It looked
like the blue sky… she lost her words for a minute.
"Su… sumimasen!!! I .. I didn't know that you are him!"
[Him…? Who is 'him' she referred to?]
Subaru decided not to ask and waited for her to continue.
"I… I am Imonoyama
Aoi. I…"
[Damn! Focus Aoi! What are you mumbling???] she suddenly hated her tongue. She didn't even dare to look at him after she realised who he was.
[but, who's to blame? Onii chan didn't tell her anything, Nee chan never told her that he is an onmyouji, and her description of him was way the opposite of wha...]
"Imonoyama… Imonoyama San!!!" Subaru's voice broke through her mind. She startled and realised she had been busy with her own thought.
"Stay focus ok? I need to know why did you say that Hashimoto san's fever is not a common one." Subaru's strong
hands gripped at her shoulders. She looked at him and amazed by his beautiful green eyes.
Slowly Aoi pushed Subaru's hands from her, "Thanks. I got your attention now. So , where were we…? Ah.. yes, it
is all started 2 weeks ago… there were sounds at nighttime. The maids even said that they saw white shadow at night. "
[Ghost…? Lost soul…?]
Subaru folded his arms and concentrated at her every information.
" and… then, Nee san got
her first fever 10 days ago. It lasted barely a day but Nii chan was frantic. Then, two days later, she got her second
fever, this time it reached 49 degrees and she was unconscious for 2 days. Nii chan had called the best doctor he knew, but the fever didn't get better. And on the third day, the fever gone by itself. Nee san was as healthy as usual, as if she never got that fever at all."
Aoi sighed and continued, " then, on the next day, she suddenly got the fever again, for two days again, this time
Nii chan almost went crazy. Nee san barely ate a thing for these two weeks. And last night, she couldn't sleep at all,
although the fever is not so high, but…. I don't know… did Nii chan call you here?"
Talking job to a stranger is not Subaru, so he decided to ask. "Well, if I may know, what's your relationship with Hashimoto san? and... my Grandmother mentioned that the client is a man..."
Aoi thought for a while then said, "Well, if the client is a man, then, the biggest possibility is my brother, Imonoyama Nokoru. Nee san is Onii chan's fiance..."
[Fiance? well... Imonoyama surely not a common family,] he knows that.
[Well... Hashimoto san found her
happiness, ....]
Subaru thought about the request and Hashimoto's condition. After a while, Subaru decided
to do what
the client had asked him to do, then, he will try to solve this 'fever' things.
"Imonoyama San, can you show me the centre of this house?" Subaru asked her. Aoi nodded and quickly guided him
into a small library.
"I supposed this is the centre of this house…" Aoi wondered what Subaru was planning, but she didn't want to ask
him that question. She followed Subaru inside the library. Then, Subaru turned around and politely asked her to leave
him alone. Aoi only nodded and walked out.
[Well, Mr.Onmyouji, you are not going to get rid of me that easy you know?!]
Aoi couldn't help her curiosity.
She slowly opened the door, tried not to make any sound at all.
Subaru stood right in the middle of the room. His eyes were closed, and his hands formed a several different symbols
that Aoi didn't understand at all. Suddenly out of nowhere, there was a soft breeze of wind that circled around
Subaru. There was an eerie glow from the four corners of the room. Aoi narrowed her eyes and realised that the
glow came from a piece of paper. The glow brightened in each second, then the four glows started to move until they
stopped at Subaru's hands. Aoi could hear a soft chant from Subaru.
Subaru's white coat started to float around him. Aoi stood there, amazed, her blue eyes widened, she didn't even realised that she was holding her breath.
Aoi's blue eyes moved to see Subaru's face. Short black hair,
[I wonder how it feels to touch his hair…]
the thought
made her blush. She wished that Subaru opened his green eyes, so that she could take a good look without letting him
know. His green eyes had attracted Aoi since the first time she saw him. Although this morning she had acted like a
weirdo.
His lean body, tall figure, small lips, handsome face… Aoi sighed,
[Nee san never told me how handsome he is and how
tall he is… I wonder how it feels to be in his arms…]
Before Aoi had a chance to imagine that, Subaru opened his eyes. Startled, Aoi realised the wind and the soft glow had disappeared. Quickly she moved away from the door, acted as if she was far away from the door.
Minutes passed, Subaru hasn't walked out of the room.
[What the hell is he doing inside?]
Aoi slowly walked to the
opened door, to her surprise, Subaru was half-kneeling, his left hand held on the library table for support. Aoi quickly
ran inside and knelt beside him.
"Sumeragi san, daijoubu?" Subaru didn't answer her, so she lightly touched him on his arm. Subaru startled by her touch and turned to see her. He didn't realise that Aoi came in and knelt beside him. The headache was killing.
[Oh… now I remember why I don't like to do this sort of job…]
building a kekkai never been an easy job. It always
made him dizzy and left him powerless when he finished. Subaru shook his head, tried to kill the pain.
Aoi's heart ached when she saw Subaru's painful face.
[My heart hurts… why?]
She wanted to help him, wanted to ask him what she could do, wanted to hug him, wanted to ease the pain for him… yet
she only knelt there silently.
A moment later, Subaru opened his eyes, and manage to stand up. Aoi followed him and stared at him. Subaru looked
at her and realised what that eyes meant.
"I'm fine…" he assured her.
"Come, let's get back to Hashimoto san."
He walked out of the room just like that, without even waited for her. Aoi irritated by his act, yet she ran to chase him. For her, Subaru's attitude just now was nothing compared to her Nee san's condition. But she still felt worried for what just happened.
Subaru arrived in front of Hashimoto's bedroom. He knocked softly. A while later one of the maids opened the door for him. Subaru walked in with Aoi behind him. Aoi rushed to Hashimoto's side. She was sitting on the bed. She still looked pale but at least she was conscious.
"Nee san! Are you ok? How do you feel?" Aoi knelt beside her. Hashimoto looked at her and smiled softly.
"I am ok now. Although still felt tired but, I am really fine now."
She turned her eyes to Subaru who was standing at
the corner of the bed.
"Thank you Sumeragi san…" Subaru nodded for her reply.
"Then… I have to go now…" Subaru turned
around, prepared to go out when Hoshimoto called him again.
"Can we meet again?" She asked hesitantly. Subaru only looked at her, so she continued, " This Thursday? 3 o'clock?" Subaru looked at her silently, as if he was thinking.
"… I will come here at two." With that he walked out of the room. Subaru closed the door behind him. He sighed.
[what a coincidence… Hashimoto… ]
Someone from his past suddenly showed up in front of him… his past… he never wished to meet anyone from his past, … ever again… except for one person… or two.
"Seishirou san…" unconsciously Subaru mumbled the name. Quickly he cleared his mind and walked away with fast steps.
Imonoyama Nokoru is a character taken from CLAMP Campus Detective and X. Imonoyama Aoi is simply an imaginary character. Nokoru has no sister.
