Silence. Dust rises as buildings crumble and dissolve in flames. The inhabitants of these buildings flee wherever they can find safety. No escape. Death. Complete silence. A lone being stands in the middle of this destruction. "It's time..."
Hinoto awoke with a start. Souhi, Hien, and Daisuke rush to her side in assistance. Her breathing is short and desperation is in her blind eyes. "Call the scouts... the time for them to meet their destiny has come..." She gasps for air. "They must find our leader. The only one who holds the key to preventing what is to come. They must find...
Sailormoon X
Pi-pi-pi-pi-pi-*SLAM*! The alarm clock found itself in itty-bitty pieces after it was thrown into the wall by a young man who looked less than happy to be awake. He flopped back onto his bed.
"Kamui! Get dressed and go to school!" A voice called from outside the room.
"Alright mom!" Kamui got up and began to get dressed. My name is Kamui Shirou. I'm 15. I hate mornings. He then ran out the door to school. "I'm off!" Off in the distance , two men and a woman watch him. The man in the 'A' shirt spoke.
"That's him? Kinda short."
"Maybe her vision was wrong." The other man commented. The woman looked at them.
"Let's find out." They vanish.
"Kamui!" Kamui tried to turn the other way as soon as he saw the six owners of the voice that just called him. "Kamui-chan!" He smirked and bent down into a starter running position.
"Running away again?" Kamui jumped up and turned around. He stood facing a girl with medium long black hair. She was almost as tall as him, give or take an inch. He checked the expression on her face to find she was completely serious. This is Youko. One of my friends. He then found himself being mugged by five girls. These girls are the rest of my friends. Chanel, Arielle, Brenda, Katie, and Ami. These guys mug me every morning. Not that I mind. I'm just a tad tired today. "Hey, no fair. Six against one!" They all started laughing and play fighting.
"Uh...hello! Pay attention people!" Youko yelled at them. Suddenly, the earth shook. Kamui and the others stopped playing and began to panic. Then it stopped abruptly. "Well, that was a hell of an introduction to a talk if I do say so myself." She took out a newspaper and opened it to the front page. The main headline read: 'Constant Earthquakes seem Unnatural'
"Whoopie. A whole bunch of earthquakes have come our way. So what? It's not the end of the world." Kamui said. Chanel pondered to herself.
"Hmm... well, actually that could be it exactly." Everyone looked at her, interest peaked, as Chanel is the known expert on odd occurences and their sources. She looked up at them. "Well, you've heard how the prophesies go in bible lore, right? That humanity will end as a result of the earth destroying itself. Earthquakes are a part of that prophesy. These earthquakes now may be the ones. And we are nearing the millenium. The promised time." She looked up at her friends again, to find all of them with bored, dulled expressions on their faces, some drooling, the others nearly falling asleep. "Hey!" They started.
"Uh, yeah, death to humanity, right? Okay. Goodnight." Kamui began to walk away and Youko grabbed him.
"We're being serious!" She yelled. Kamui looked at her not interested.
"Look. I know you two are into this weird prophetic stuff and psychokinesis and all that but," He grabbed the newspaper and tossed it in a nearby garbage can. "The time when the world is going to end will be the same time you'll be seein' me in a girls school uniform." He began to walk away.
"And when the time comes that you eat your words. We'll be right beside you in vinyl." Youko smirked as she spoke. The others began to smirk as well. Kamui just scowled at them and kept walking.
Just then a young girl walked by. She had long blonde slightly curly hair that looked like silk. Her facial features delicate like that of a porcelain doll. Kamui started blushing as she walked by. "That's the new transfer student, Kotori Monou. Her family just moved here a week ago." Amy tugged on Kamui's jacket shirt. "You know Kamui-chan... her brother's real cute. Kind of reminds me of you" She got a lustful expression on her face. Kamui blanched. "But he's BIG." Everyone face faulted. The bell rang for class.
After class had ended Kamui walked down the hallway looking for his friends. He then saw the girl from before walking towards the stairwell to the roof. "Why is she going to the roof?" He set himself out to follow her.
As he followed he noticed that Kotori seemed to slow, so he slowed down his own pace to remain at an safe distance where he could see her without being seen. She slowed down some more. 'I wonder, is she alright?' Kamui thought to himself. His answer came when just as she had about stepped on the last step of the staircase she fell backwards. 'Chikushou!' He ran up as fast as he could and barely caught her before her head landed on one of the edges of the stairs. He looked down at her face. "Are you okay?" She didn't respond. "I'll take you to the nurse's office." He lifted her up and began to proceed down the stairs.
"Aunt Tokiko!" Kamui yelled into the nurse's office, carrying Kotori in. A middle aged woman with long black hair responded.
"My god, what happened?" She motioned for Kamui to place Kotori onto the small bed in the next room.
"She fell down on her way up to the roof." Kamui watched as his aunt checked Kotori.
"Well, she seems to be okay. Just a fainting spell." She looked at Kotori more closely. "Wait a minute... isn't she the new transfer student?" She went over to a file cabinet and open one of the drawers. Eventually she found the file she was looking for. She flipped through it and placed it back in the drawer. "I knew it was her."
"Huh?" Kamui looked at his aunt puzzled.
"Well, you see, out of all the students here, she's the only one that has heart problems. Which would explain her sudden lack of consciousness." Tokiko winked at Kamui and opened the door to her office. "Watch over her. I have to make a phone call." She stepped out of the room leaving Kamui alone with Kotori. He sat down in a chair beside her bed.
'She's pretty. It's like she comes from a dream…' Kotori stirred. 'She's waking up.' Kotori opened her eyes and looked around her surroundings confused. Her eyes eventually focused on Kamui.
"Who are you?" Kamui found himself suddenly at a loss for words.
"I... uh... I'm..." The door to the room opened and Tokiko walked in followed by a rather tall boy with short black hair. Tokiko pointed to the bed.
"She's right over there big brother. Take her home and make sure she gets lots of rest." The tall boy nodded. He walked over to his sister and helped her out of bed, ignoring Kamui.
"Let's go home now Kotori." Kotori nodded and began to follow him out of the office. Before she went out the door she turned around and smiled.
"Thank you for helping me." She then left. Kamui's cheeks began to burn. His aunt looked at him and giggled.
"What?" Kamui asked.
"Nothing. You'd better get home now before your mother gets worried." She began giggling some more as Kamui left.
On his way home all Kamui could think about was Kotori. 'She's so mysterious. And delicate looking. I wonder if she has a boyfriend' Something caught his eye. It was someone who was jumping from rooftop to rooftop. Another person followed the first. 'Why are there people jumping on the rooftops?' His next thought was interrupted by the shout of another's voice behind him.
"Hey miss! Wait for me!" Kamui turned around, "Head's up!" and met face first with the other persons shoe. The world went dark.
"Oops."

Author's notes: Well, 3 things I've learned from writing this story so far-
#1: I am a boring writer. I plan to remedy this in the next chapters to come.
#2: Never let Kami-chan type. Subaru eats lots of newspaper that way.
#3: I need to learn how to count. I didn't learn anything else.
