This features the other seals once in a while. Note: if this is the most pathetic thing you've ever swallowed, have pity on this poor writer's attempts to satisfy the masters!
"Coffee break!" Seiichirou Aoki smiled at the excited break
call of his fellow workers at the Asuka office. "Yay!" came a chorus of relieved voices. He watched as every worker gathered ritually at the table with coffee mugs and pastries set out nearby. Seiichirou prefered to lag behind until the small crowd around the coffeemaker was gone. It was a sunday.....and he was working like crazy. He could
almost hear the reprimand he'd get from Sorata Arisugawa when he got back to the Imonoyama Mansion, where the seals were temporarily staying for the while. "It's a great sunday afternoon," the voice echoed in his head. "You should be out having fun, not stuffed up in some office with a bunch of papers! They're not much company! Besides, they're not even alive!" he chuckled softly at the thought. It was fun
playing dad to all of those young seals running about, but he loved
the company of Karen Kasumi, the seal about his age...the only seal
about his age. His nephew Daisuke Saiki was too cold, too
focused....not much a happy camper. His family was dead.....Seiichirou
sighed heavily in an attempt to cast the memories away. He didn't want
to remember. He never would want to remember. It still hurt.
Finally,
he got up and served himself to a mug of wonderful coffee and a piece
of apple pie at his desk. Might as well take a break from all of the
work....for once. When breaktime was over and the group of workers at
Asuka began their work again, Seiichirou's phone rang. "Seiichirou
Aoki here," he answered. His face lit up. "Karen? Sure! A walk in the
park later would be fine? At 3:30? Sure! I'll be there! Bye!" He hung
up and continued his work....but in a very cheerful way. In an hour
he'd be meeting a very pretty seal his age to an old-fashioned date in
the park.
Karen Kasumi ran down the stairs gracefully, silk swirling
and she slipped into her shoes near the sofa of the Imonoyama mansion.
Subaru Sumeragi looked up from his book. "Where are you heading off
to?" he asked as she slipped on her jacket and was going out the door.
She paused and smiled at him. "To a date," she answered as she stepped
out of the mansion. To the park she goes. Subaru smiled, turning back
to his book. And older woman falling in love again with a man about
her age.
Yuzuhira Nekoi came in with a large open barrel of cookies
and cream ice cream....and her happily digging into it. "Where did mom
go?" she asked through some chomps. They playfully called Yuzuhira
'little sister', Seiichirou 'dad' and Karen 'mom'.
"Don't know,"
Subaru answered as the cute girl came to sit beside him with the
delicious looking ice cream. Finally, he couldn't take it anymore.
"Can I have a scoop, sis?"
"No, Subaru."
"Shucks!" Attempts to grab the spoon from her or chase her around the
house were futile, and Inuki was already growling threateningly. Even
a ghost dog's bite packed a punch!
Seiichirou and Karen walked together in the park. It was a
beautiful day. They were chatting happily over some ice cream which
Seiichirou had nicely payed for. Karen loved him for his charming
sweetness towards other women....maybe that was why his wife had loved
Seiichirou so much. "Like the ice cream?" Seiichirou asked.
"It's
delicious!" Karen answered, smiling up to him. "Arigato, Aoki-sama."
"Call me, Seiichirou, Karen," he told her with his own sweet
smile....one Karen had learned to love so much. "So.....you free
Saturday?"
"I'd love to go,
Seii-chan," she told him, knowing what he was about to ask. Seiichirou
was surprised at how Karen knew he was going to ask her for another
date.
"Then I guess that means yes," he reasoned as they came to stand
on the bridge side by side, watching the swans and ducks over the
sparkling lagoon. There they cuddled for a while before......
Sorata Arisugawa whistled at the very interesting love scene
at the bridge from afar. "Mom and dad making out! That's new!"
Arashi
Kishu sighed, exasperated and mentally calling Sorata the seven other terms for idiot: dolt, stupid, baka, ugly, pathetic, neandrathal and
perverted jerk. "I am not amused, Sorata," she informed him.
"Well I kind of find it cute, Ara-chan!"
"I think I've had quite enough! PREPARE TO DIE!!!!!!!!"
And she spent the day happily chasing him around the park, unawares. Seiichirou and Karen saw them and their blasts quite clearly. They both sighed. "Childish love....with a twist."
