respective owners and not me. Please do not sue me for trying out a silly
fic which I wrote upon inspiration.
This fanfic is actually a continuation after the first X'mas fic I did, 'A
deploy for Christmas', which began fairly well but ended in a messy bundle
of screaming people. I hope you'll like this

The New Year Bash!
By Jennifier D.
Part I: Preparations
Imonoyama Nokoru frowned he as gazed down at the sight of students
cheerfully bidding farewells to each other as school in Clamp Campus ended.
It had been such a long time since he last had a major party at his home and
the last one ended in an absolute disaster. Well, the self-destruction part,
that was. He didn't expect the Wing Zero Gundam's pilot to appear, blowing
up his house and Deathscythe Hell with a set of special self-destruct
detonators. He _did_ specify that he wanted to blow up his _own_ gundam, not
the mansion, and how Heero Yuy managed to plant all those bombs in his home
was still a mystery. Suou looked thoroughly shocked when he found out that
they were actually living in such dangerous quarters. He could not tolerate
the idea of Nokoru living in a bomb-ridden house, the Imonoyama mansion or
not.
*Maybe... maybe that was all planned beforehand?* Nokoru thought to himself,
bemused. Maybe Heero _did_ have the intention of blowing up his home. Nokoru
also found, to his puzzlement, he had absolutely no recollections of what
happened after someone started a bawl in a corner of the hall till Heero
started blowing up the house. If Christmas parties were meant to always end
up in such tragedies, maybe he shouldn't have a Christmas party this year.
*A New Year Party?* Nokoru pondered, tapping his fan to his chin with a
thoughtful look on his face.
Takamura Suou and Ijyuin Akira watched the array of expressions on Nokoru's
face then swallowed. From that quirky smile to the thoughtful look, then the
knowing grin, they could more or less guess that their Kaichou, or rather-
Rijichou, had something up his sleeves again.
Suou sweat-dropped when Nokoru suddenly broke into maniacal laughter,
snapping his fan open and displaying the words 'A Celebration is Needed!'.
Akira gave him a nervous smile.
"Suou! Let's start sending out the invitation cards for the New Year party!"
Nokoru stood up and slapped his fan on the table, grinning enthusiastically.
Suou bowed his head in defeat, "Kaichou, it is only October. New Year is two
months away."
There was a long moment of embarrassed silence.
Akira glanced from Suou to Nokoru, then back to Suou again. He swallowed.
"Ah- Kaichou-"
"Akira-kun!" Ohkawa Utako knocked, then opened the door and stopped short at
the sight of the highly-strung, tension filled atmosphere.
"Ah... Did I come in at the wrong time?" she raised her eyebrows.
"No, Ohkawa-san. We're just discussing about the New Year Party I plan to
hold." Nokoru's lips turned up in a warm smile.
"Oh," Utako suddenly frowned. "But isn't New Year only two months later?"
Nokoru twitched, letting his head fall. Suou sighed and closed his eyes with
a pained look. Akira's smile was growing more nervous by the second.
"I know that," Nokoru raised his head. "I just wanted to make sure that
everyone is available for that party. Well, at least Tsuzuku must be
available."
Suou, Akira and Utako blushed crimson at the mentioning of Nokoru's lover,
Ryudo Tsuzuku. It was not so long ago that Nokoru had finally admitted
(publicly) that he was no longer single. Contrary to the reactions he had
feared, the ladies were pretty excited about it. It always fazed the three
of them to know that the girls were not in the least bit disturbed to know
that two of their favourite bishounen were actually attached. Azuya Nagisa
certainly didn't even bat an eyelid when the news reached her; she had long
recognised the eccentric traits that ran through the different families.
Neither of them was really uncomfortable about the strange pairing. Suou, to
begin with, didn't truly believe that Nokoru would really get a girlfriend.
After all, he was never interested in any girl, so it didn't come to much of
a surprise when Nokoru chose a guy.
But the problem here laid in the choice of partner.
Nokoru had -so conveniently and with all credits to his family's inherited
eccentricity- chose a Ryudo. The Ryudo was of the families rumoured to be
the direct descendants of the Imperial Dragons in Heavens.
Unknown to Nokoru, Suou had done thorough research on the Ryudo brothers
studying in Clamp Campus, and found out that they were actually runaways.
The four brothers and their cousin, Toba Matsuri, were presently in Clamp
Campus to avoid certain people. Their stay here was unconfirmed, but it was
quite definite that they were not staying for long.
*And he _had_ to pick the one with the worse temper of the lot.* Suou
thought to himself sourly as he remembered the young man, who had a head
full of fiery auburn hair that matched his temper perfectly.
Akira, on the other hand, had a bad shock. It wasn't his fault that he had
to witness the process where Tsuzuku tried to protect Nokoru from Lestat, a
foreign friend whom Nokoru invited. It was also not his fault to watch
Tsuzuku carry Nokoru to his room lovingly and never left it until the next
morning. He wasn't quite sure what happened inside Nokoru's suite for the
whole night, but he definitely didn't want to know. It was thankful that
Utako had to be overseas for a certain family problem and missed the party
totally.
He wasn't amused to see the scandalous look she had on when the news leaked
out. Surprisingly, it did no harm to the two young men's reputation, but it
certainly did quite a lot of reconstruction on Akira's nerves and his
knowledge of the term 'gay'.
That precious little bit of innocence lost with the newfound knowledge was
mourned for, and Akira suddenly realised that he still had a lot to learn
about the world in general.
Initially, Utako thought it was a sick joke made by Akira, but she also knew
that he wasn't the kind of person who made such kind of jokes. Trusting her
own instincts, she chose to believe Akira and incidentally saw Nokoru and
Tsuzuku cheerfully strolling down the hallway to his office. She didn't
scream; she didn't run, but she could barely stop herself from dropping her
jaws onto the floor. It would have been really disgraceful if Akira was
around to see her lose her composure.
Utako told herself strictly to act like a normal human when she saw them
again. After all, they were just a _slightly_ out of ordinary couple.
"Here! This is the list of guests!" Nokoru held up a piece of paper which
cascaded from his hand onto the table and tumbled some more until it ended
at the Suou feet.
Suou was standing five feet away from Nokoru's table.
Everyone present sweat-dropped.
"Ah... Kaichou...?" Akira gave him an uncertain look.
"Please be kind enough to inform all of them, Akira." Nokoru beamed.
"H-hai..."
Akira picked up one end of the paper and began rolling it. A name flashed
before his eyes as he quickly gathered it into the tight, compact stick.
*Who's Fujimiya Aya?* Akira wondered to himself as he quickly placed the
scroll on his desk.
Suou left the room to make the arrangements for the location of the party.
Since they trashed Nokoru's mansion the last time, they were going to use
the Auditorium in Clamp Campus for the celebrations.
Utako passed Akira the message she was carrying before slipping out of the
room with a last glance at Nokoru's turned chair. Nokoru was facing the
window, feeling absolutely healthy as the sun streamed in and bathe his
features in a golden glow.
Had any of the three saw the look on his face, they would have shuddered
even though autumn had barely began...
To be continued...
