Hi!
I hope this one doesn't end up too cluttered since I'm squeezing in about
ten to eleven realities in the short second part. The third part will laspe
into the real party! Protocol... protocol...

The New Year Bash!
By Jennifier D.
Part II: Invitations
:All these happened two weeks before the party:
The young Gundam pilot gave the perfectly innocent-looking email in his
account a cold stare.
*Party invitation...?*
*Crazy guy. Why did he invite me after I blew up his house the other time?*
"Ah, a party invitation?" a braid fell over his shoulder.
"Duo!" Heero Yuy turned around, giving his fellow pilot a baleful glare.
"Only you are invited? Who invited you?" Duo Maxwell scrolled down the
message. "Hey! All of us are invited!"
Heero slapped the other's hand away. "Don't touch my things!"
"But it's a message meant for all the Gundam pilots!" Duo argued, pouting.
Heero closed his eyes and calmly told the hovering headache to go to hell.
"Yes. I was about to inform you." his voice came out stone dead.
"Oui! Let's go together!" Duo jumped onto Heero enthusiastically, hugging
him from behind.
"HEEEEEEEEEEERO(tm)!" a scandalous voice rang throughout the room as its
owner stood at the door, her hands on her hips. "What is that pervert doing
to you?!"
That voice could belong to no other than the great Relena Dorian herself.
Heero twitched.
Duo stuck his tongue out at Relena.
"How dare you!" Relena squealed, her 'I'm-so-perfect' voice sounding like
fingernails raking across glass.
Heero took in a deep breath, told his nerves to stop fidgeting and decided
that the headache _would_ die when he found the time to deal with it.
Boy, this was going to be a long day.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Ryudo Tsuzuku glanced at the mail brought in and caught sight of a
cream-coloured envelope with his family's italicised name embossed on it in
silver. Picking it up, he opened the envelope and a piece of paper slipped
out.
"Nokoru..." Tsuzuku smiled at no one in particular, tucking the piece of
paper back into the envelope.
"Tsuzuku, what's that letter about?" Ryudo Hajime walked into the room,
settling down next to his brother with ease. Sounds of someone chopping up
things could be heard from the kitchen.
"Nokoru just invited the whole family to a New Year party." Tsuzuku smiled
again when he thought of his lover.
"Matsuri is invited too?"
"Yes."
"What a thoughtful young man."
"Niisan, he's the same age as me."
"Really?"
"Yes," a note of desperation found its way into Tsuzuku's voice. "I met him
in school."
"And I know about the relationship between the two of you."
Silence.
"Niisan!"
Hajime laughed, his dark eyes twinkling as he regarded his blushing younger
brother.
"If he is really so important to you..." Hajime smiled when he saw Tsuzuku
blanch. "We are going to this party."
The latter let out a sigh of relief.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
"Stop there you idiot!" Ryuuzaki Umi screamed at an innocent, but deformed
looking rabbit...
...ah ...sorry, it was not a rabbit.
"Umi-chan, what did Mokona do?" Shidou Hikaru asked, turning her attention
to the screaming blue-haired girl.
"It-it-it-" Umi panted, out of breath.
"Umi-san, are you okay?" Hououji Fuu too, turned to the former with concern.
"Puuf!" Mokona bounced before Umi cheerfully, holding a letter in its mouth.
"You!" Umi made a grab at it, but it bounced off merrily into Hikaru's arms.
"Arrrraaagh!"
"Pufpufpufpufpuuuuf!" Mokona beamed at Hikaru.
"Eh?" Hikaru took the letter from Mokona's mouth.
"Pupupuuuu!" Mokona bounced off again, stopping for a moment before Umi to
grin at her.
"Why you-!" Umi saw red.
"Umi-chan! Look at this!" Hikaru exclaimed with delight. "All of us are
invited to Nokoru-chan's New Year party!"
"Oh," Umi smiled, pushing her dishevelled hair back from her face. "I was
trying to open the letter before that thing took it away."
"He invited everybody!" Hikaru beamed at the other two Magic Knights.
"That's so great! We can gather the rest and inform them now!" Fuu smiled
back.
"Really? I bet you are just _dying_ to see Ferio!" Umi gave the blond a
knowing smile.
"Umi-san!" the soft-spoken girl blushed crimson.
"Hai hai..."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
"Usagi! There's a letter for you!"
Tsukino Usagi cracked open an eye, then leaped from her table, wailing.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! It's Ten o'clock already and I still haven't finished my
homework!"
Apparently, the blonde had fell asleep while trying to do her arithmetic
homework.
"Usagi! Come and collect your letter!" her mother shouted downstairs.
"Hai!" Usagi shouted in return, scrambling down the stairs to get to the
living room.
She picked up the letter and stared at the embossed silver lettering on it
for a long moment. she shrugged, tearing the envelope open in the most ugly
way. An invitation slip with her name written on fell from the letter, and
she failed her arms, attempting to catch it before it hit the ground.
"Woah!"
CRASH!
"Damned table..." Usagi muttered as she picked up the piece of paper.
"An invitation to... 'A New Year Bash'?" she peered at the paper for a long
moment, then ruefully tucked it back into the badly torn envelope,
shrugging. "Oh well."
All over Japan, the other Sailor Senshi, Inner and Outer solar system
included, too, stared at their respective invitation slips and decided to
put them aside. They could always ask the rest whether they were invited or
not, then make the decision of going to the party.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Torikai Ginga breezed into the suite the whole team shared and dropped the
open envelope casually into Washizaki Hishou's lap. The latter picked up the
letter, gave his team mate a queer look and flipped the folded invitation
slip inside open:
Imonoyama Nokoru has invited
Angel
&
The Hearts
to his New Year Bash at Clamp Campus.
Date: 31/12/1999
Venue: Clamp Campus Auditorium - X-1999 reality
Time: 8:00 p.m. Universal Time
N.B.: Please be punctual.
"So, are we going?" Ginga asked nonchalantly from the loveseat.
"I think so," Hishou muttered, carefully putting the invitation slip back
into the envelope. "Have you told the rest?"
Ginga turned to look at Hishou, "The rest of our team or _the rest_?"
"I mean everyone."
"I haven't informed The Hearts."
"Why didn't you do so?"
"There was only Kazuya around."
"Oh." Hishou snapped his mouth shut.
"Hishou-kun!" Ohtori Hayate bounced into the room cheerfully. "We _are_
going to the party right?"
"Yeah..." the other two in the room turned to look at Hayate.
"Why don't you go and inform The Hearts about the party?" Ginga grinned.
"Why must I?" Hayate protested. He _knew_ that only Kazuya was around at the
moment. He had gone down to visit Fujimaru-kun but found that he was out.
"Well..."
Hayate cringed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Fujimiya Aya stared at the letter addressed to the flower shop. Kudoh Youji
breezed pass him, then stopped and backtracked to Aya. He peered at the
innocent-seeming letter lying on the tabletop.
"Someone sent a love letter to you?" Youji laughed, snatching up the letter
and opening it. "Huh?"
Aya just turned his searing gaze onto Youji and continued staring at the
other young man.
"What party?" Youji crinkled up his forehead in puzzlement.
"Aya-kun! I need some help here!" Tsukiyono Omi called from outside the
flower shop.
Without a word, Aya slipped out of his place behind the counter, going out
to give Omi a hand in carrying the flower pots.
"Hey! Aya! Are we going?" Youji grinned at the redhead, a calculating look
growing in his eyes.
Aya shrugged.
"Okay! We're going!" Youji proclaimed, then muttered to himself. "Wonder
where he knew the Imonoyama guy from... hmmn... I doubt he will mind if I
bring a girlfriend along..."
"Omi! When Ken returns, tell him we're going to a New Year party!" Youji
shouted from inside the flower shop.
"Eh?" Omi blinked, then shrugged, turning back to his work.
Aya only closed his eyes, remembering the last time he met Imonoyama
Nokoru... and sighed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Miyu turned to Larva with a smile.
"We're going to a party again."
Larva gave a silent sigh.
"Yui and Nagi are also invited this time."
Larva gave an even bigger sigh.
This was going to be hard with Nagi and Yui around. The last time, Miyu
managed to trash the party pretty badly when Lestat & Co. appeared. If that
bunch of people appeared again... you wouldn't want to know the
consequences. Especially if Miyu was feeling up to mood for playing...
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Kurama, also known as Minamino Shuuichi gave Koenma a puzzled look.
"Nokoru wants us to go to his New Year party?"
"Yes." the son of Lord Enma nodded his head.
The two stared at each other.
"Are you sure you want to go? After I single-handedly ruined our reputation
the last time..."
"It's only polite." Koenma muttered, pushing a stack of papers aside as
Kurama conveniently perched on the end of his desk.
"So, who's going to convince Hiei to go again? I mean, after I spilled the
beans and then vomited all over him, I thought he would personally kill me.
Kuwabara had to made it worst by vomiting all over him too." Kurama remarked
thoughtfully as he embraced Koenma from behind.
"I know." Koenma replied, crossed.
"And how are you going to ensure that we have no mission on that day?"
Kurama purred into Koenma's ear, smiling.
Koenma reached behind to stroke the redhead's hair. "I'll think of a way to
get Hiei to come and keep that day free from any assignments."
Kurama snuggled up to his lover with a knowing grin, remembering what
happened _after_ the party the other time time...
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Ikari Shinji put down his bag and stared at his mentor with disbelief.
"We are going to a what?"
"Oh, it's just a New Year party." Katsuragi Misato hiccuped, then took a
swig off her beer can.
"A New Year party..."
"Third Child!" Asuka Langley Soryuu shouted at the top of her voice as she
stormed out of her room, fully dressed in her school uniform. "Why didn't
you wake me up you dolt!"
"I did..."
"No you didn't! Oh wait, you went into my room too, didn't you?!"
"Well, I'm supposed to wake you up-"
"Pervert! What did you do to me when I was asleep?!"
"I did nothing!"
"Liar!"
"I did not lie!"
"Hey guys, don't 'cha need to go to..." before Misato could finish her
sentence, the two had already left the house, still shouting at each other.
"...school?"
"Drat it." she pouted, then slipped the invitation letter into the fridge
without knowing it.
"Hmmn... what was I telling Shinji just now?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Shirou Kamui regarded the letter in his hand with a frown, then turned to
Sumeragi Subaru.
"Subaru..."
"It won't do you harm to go a party," the onmyouji shrugged, then took the
letter from Kamui. "Oh. We are all invited."
"Yes."
"I'll go with you then."
"But the last time..."
"Why bother? Time is running short. Furthermore, whether we can attend the
party or not is still in serious doubt. We cannot be sure if we can survive
till 31st of December."
"If you say so..."
"Let's go and inform the rest?"
"Yes..."
"Cheer up a little, Kamui. Not everything that can go wrong will go wrong."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
[Kamui], also known as Monou Fuuma stared at the invitation letter in his
hands, then threw it at Kanoe.
"[Kamui]! What's this?" the scantily dressed woman gave the young man an
injured look.
"Invitation."
"To what?" Kanoe muttered as she opened the slip of paper inside and
answered herself. "Oh, a party-"
"Wait! We're invited to Clamp Campus! That's where the other Shinken lies!"
she exclaimed with surprise.
"I know that."
"We _must_ go to that party!"
"Are you saying this because you are sore from not being invited to the last
party?"
"Why Yuuto!"
The cheerful fair-haired young man grinned at Kanoe, indicating he meant not
harm with that comment.
"Maybe she is." Yatouji Satsuki slipped up behind Yuuto and slide her arms
around him.
"Satsuki!" Kanoe sounded even more scandalous than before.
"Oui." Kigai Yuuto turned to smile at his lover, the two of them sharing a
secret joke.
[Kamui] gave the other three a dispassionate look, then left the room. Yuuto
and Satsuki watched him leave, the former muttering softly, "Is it just me
or does he has bad manners?"
"Yuuto-dear, it's just plain bad manners on his part." Satsuki grinned, then
snuggled tighter to her lover, ignoring the screaming woman in the
background.
