Another submission!
This Seishirou most resembles the Sei-chan from my Sub-Sei fic TB:Rebirth
(but it's not exactly that Sei-chan) -- I had to do so to make the plot
work, as well as making the song fit him. And what a weird plot twist!
Talk about alternate realities.... this was hard to cook up! The setup
for this one is rather long, I'm sorry about that, but I wanted to do
the requested plot justice ^_^
CHAPTER 5: Seishirou Sakurazuka and Karen Kasumi (X)
"Seishirou-san... I would like to take you out to a special
dinner tonight. After all, it has been a year since we..." Karen looked
up at the tall reticent man.
"Since?" Seishirou looked back at Karen with a questioning look.
"Since we met."
"Has it been that long, Karen-san?"
"Yes. It has." She smiled. "For me, it was love at first sight.
When I bumped into you at the train station.... it just felt like a
thunderbolt hit me. That you were 'special'. So.... I want to make
tonight a special night. Would you be free for dinner?"
"Why, yes, Karen-san. I would be delighted."
-----
Seishirou was awestruck at the decorum of the restaurant. This
was surely not a place where you bring your drinking buddies! The
spacious dining hall of the restaurant was adorned with delicate
paintings, replicas of the world's most famous artwork. Each table was
covered with a crisp white tablecloth, with a fresh bouquet of lovely and
colorful flowers as the centerpieces. The chairs were plush and
inviting. The faint aroma of delicate sauces wafted from the door to the
kitchen, the tender touch of a master pianist filling the room with the
most delicate of sounds from one corner. All the customers who were in
the restaurant looked respectful.
Once seated, Karen looked into Seishirou's eyes. "Do you like
it?"
"Why, yes, I'm a little flattered that you would be bringing me to
a place like this."
"I only bring the most special of people here. And you *are* the
most special of everyone that I have ever met."
"I am honored, my lady."
"I knew you would like it. I'm glad." Karen smiled.
Seishirou's heart skipped a beat. Here he was, in a beautiful
restaurant, with a beautiful companion that loved him.... Subaru had
made him realize that he was not the cold-blooded assassin that he had
once thought himself to be. Since then, Seishirou has learned to show
emotions... and to feel them as well. The past year with Karen had
taught him a lot about love. What it meant, how it felt to be in love.
-----
As they were finishing their desserts, Seishirou spoke up. "This
was the most lovely dinner I have had, Karen-san."
"I'm really glad that you liked dinner tonight, Seishirou-san...
because this is the last time that I will see you."
Seishirou's eyes widened. "Why do you say that!?"
"Because I realized that you are still not over Subaru-kun. I
tried my best for a year, but you just can't forget about him.... I
can't win against someone that has known you, even loved you, for so
long....!"
"Karen-san.... I'm not good with words, but...." he got up. "I
know what I must do now."
Karen took him standing as a gesture to leave before she broke
down. "Farewell."
"Who said I was going anywhere?" he smiled as he walked over to
the grand piano in the corner of the room.
Karen saw Seishirou slipping a piece of paper -- a bill? -- into
the pianist's hand. The pianist nodded, and let Seishirou sit on the
bench.
The Sakurazukamori took a deep breath, and started to play. A
song. A familiar song. Karen felt tears welling in her eyes as
Seishirou's gentle voice filled the room.
o/~ When I think about 'cha lovin'
The sunny evenings, the fun we used to share,
Lookin' through the memories in my mind.
Since I've laughed and cried and thought it over,
Now I realize that it's never over, only set aside...
Oh it's you, Sweet Baby,
I will never be free from your embrace, sweet baby,
Only hopin' it's not too late to try again..
It's you, sweet baby.
Ever lost and captured by your smile, sweet baby,
I will always be right there by your side.
Lyin' here alone I'm dreamin', my mind's keep wonderin'
My thoughts are only you,
Wanderin' through the memories in my mind
How could love so real have turned so empty
I just keep wondering why...
Will I ever find the love we shared together you and I...
Oh it's you... sweet baby,
Though we had such a long hard rock to climb, sweet baby.
Only hopin' it's not too late to try again,
It's you, sweet baby,
Won't you try and believe in what I say?
Sweet baby... I will always be right there by your side....
Right by your side.... o/~
As Seishirou got up to return to his seat, he saw Karen had
walked over to the piano. He noticed her beautiful face was moistened
with tears. He gently embraced her frail body.
"I knew I couldn't win against Subaru-kun..." Karen sobbed.
"Karen-san.... You don't even give me a chance to tell you that
I meant you. *You* are the one I love now."
Karen looked down and shook her head.
Seishirou sighed. "How can I prove...." he thought. "I know..."
He gently lifted her chin and kissed her.
"Seishirou-san..."
"Karen-san.... aishitemasu."

The song used in this chapter is "Sweet Baby" sung by George Duke &
Stanley Clarke. Submission by Tevia Pertiwi (releaser@hotmail.com). The
requests made was to (1) have Sei-chan have feelings for Karen, (2) have
Sei-chan play the piano, and (3) Sei-chan kissing Karen. All three have
been met, although it wasn't easy!
