This chapter *DOES* contain spoilers for X8. You have been warned.
bleah. VoR6 isn't going as smoothly as I want it. Nova and Ferio are on
strike, and they were the main points of VoR6. pardon the stop in
production.
So here's Sing^3 chapter 6 (Darrell, yours is up next.... damn it's a long
song! ^_^;;).... I like this "fic" because the more I write, the more
characters I become somewhat proficient at writing about. ^_^
Anyway.
This is something from me. I know I have 2 submissions (3, actually now
that I've gone through all my mail, but 1 didn't have lyrics) but I wanted to
do this first to get into the swing of things.
I tried to do this like a continuation of the Satsuki CF, tell me if you
like it!
This chapter is dedicated to Mark just because he likes the group that
sings this. =)
CHAPTER 6: Satsuki Yatouji (X)
* Monologue.
SATSUKI
Load data 12.
Voice recording program ON.
Boring.
I'm bored. I'm tired of everything. Again.
Nothing to do, nobody interesting.
The only exception is Kamui. He... no, they. They *are* making
things interesting now.
But life is still boring for me personally. Kanoe hasn't made me
do much yet. Not after that one attack on that girl. What was her name?
Ah yes. Kotori Monou.
The girl who was slain by her own brother.
You have a visual of that scene? Can I have it?
...... Oooh. Pretty grotesque.
BEAST, you're still the same as always, trying your best to keep
me entertained, to keep me from saying "I'm bored". I thank you for
that. You are all I need.
Really.
What?
What about Yuuto, you say?
Sure, he's nice. I like him. He's not like most.
Come on, BEAST. That doesn't mean that I have stopped caring
about you! How can you say that?
In fact, I brought this CD today for you to listen with me.
Okay. So it *is* a test for your new Japanese-English translation
program I programmed yesterday. But I would like you to listen to it as
well as translate it. Scan through it, pick a song you like.
Done?
Data 12 -- quick save.
Suspend Data 12 recording.
Start translation.
* Drama.
Short affirmative beep.
Beep echoes within the large room under the municipal building.
Text screen pops up in Satsuki's console window.
Music starts flowing in BEAST's internal and external speakers.
SATSUKI
Ah, I see you picked track 12. I like this song.
Affirmative beep.
BEAST
(I thought this was your favorite, Satsuki.)
SATSUKI
Sure is.
Satsuki smiles as introduction ends.
Translated text flows out in time with the singer's words.
BEAST
> You usually have been taking off the ring
> Why did you also have your arms crossed yesterday?
SATSUKI
Pause.
Affirmative beep.
BEAST
(paused.)
SATSUKI
About "have your arms crossed": can't you also take that as "link arms
wirh me" based on the first line?
BEAST
(affirmative. That may as well be the case, but it is uncertain as to
which meaning it is supposed to be.)
SATSUKI
All right. Sorry for the interruption. Resume translation.
Affirmative beep.
BEAST
> It was our meeting place that you chose
> I think I might be late today due to work for the first time in a while.
>
> I can't tell anyone; I want to tell someone
> I want to go somewhere; I want to go with you
> Trembling fingertips; even if I make it
> Dear memories, I can't live with just that
>
> I saw you dancing, and love began
> I touched your hair; and what I can do
> I finally know now
>
> I wonder if it will go on like this, and end at some point
> I just can't be as leisurely lately, by just a tiny bit
>
> That day, that time, by coincidence
> We met; that is why the dream is there
> Sometimes, I want to make a comparison
> To see that I am happier...!
>
> Everyone is crying, about their feelings that have nowhere to go
> I touched your love; and what I can do
> I finally know now
>
> There are no morals
> There are no regulations
> A SAGA that cannot be stopped by anyone
> What you can do
> What I can do
> What you want
> What I can protect
> Justice can't win; one thing in this world
> livin' on and keep on the EDGE
> Tightly, tightly
> When I embrace you
> The season starts to become severe
>
> Keep it warm; but it can't be put to voice
> I am always fulfilled just watching smiles
SATSUKI
Pause again.
Affirmative beep.
BEAST
(paused.)
SATSUKI
"Keep it warm"?
BEAST
(I seem to lack ways to express emotions. I assume the singer means
"nurtured" as in the fondness of someone growing within one's heart and
bringing the thinker a warm feeling.)
SATSUKI
Then replace the line with
"The feeling has been growing, but it still can't be expressed in words".
BEAST
(affirmative.)
SATSUKI
Resume translation.
Affirmative beep.
BEAST
> I saw you dancing, and love began
> I touched your hair
> And what I can do
> I finally know now
>
> Can't stop fallin' in love; nobody....
> Can't stop fallin' in love.... Can't help fallin' in love....
> Can't stop fallin' in love; nothing....
> Can't stop fallin' in love.... Can't help fallin' in love....
Silence as song ends.
Text window disappears.
* Monologue.
SATSUKI
Resume Data 12 recording.
You ask, why I like that song?
It shows human nature.
In fact, I think one of our enemies illustrates it quite well.
Yes. Sorata Arisugawa.
He couldn't stop himself from falling in love with Arashi.
Even the fact that he might die for her.
Even if she did not love him back.
BEAST, nothing can stop you either, right?
Humans are like that too when it comes to emotions.
I find it silly.
A waste of time.
What?
You think someone is going to change that?
We'll see.
We shall see in due time.
Oh, this data is getting big. I guess I will end it here.
Data 12 -- save.

So, I hope this format didn't throw you off too much. Since I wanted a
Sat-chan chapter, and knowing Sat-chan's persona, I thought a CF-ish
spotlight was more appropriate than the usual prose. ^_^
The song that BEAST translated (i.e. the one with the standard Internet
reply header on it): "Can't Stop Fallin' in Love" by globe.
